The 2018 Staffordshire Farm Conservation Competition, the Whitegrove Trophy, has been awarded to J S Billington, Adbaston Hall. This is annually awarded to the farmer in Staffordshire who has demonstrated the best conservation practice alongside successful commercial agriculture.
Adbaston Hall is a family run farm committed to environmental improvements alongside environmental responsible farming. Their achievements include numerous areas of woodland planting and a notable large wildlife pond. The farmland contains generous field margins with hedgerows cut sympathetically for wildlife. Cropping cultivation is under zero tillage with soil management considered an important part of the farm management.
